Job summary

Applegreen is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to ensure effective maintenance and repairs at a Travel Plaza. The technician will inspect and repair food service equipment, and maintain overall safety and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and knowledge in small appliance repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. The position offers flexible schedules and comprehensive benefits.

Position Summary

The full time Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair at a Travel Plaza; ensuring the Plaza’s equipment is operating and being maintained cost effectively. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions

• Inspects, diagnoses, and performs repairs and maintenance on all food service equipment.
• Maintains small appliances, kitchen equipment, minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
• Ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Coordinates repairs within approved budgetary guidelines.
• Maintains preventative maintenance schedule and records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment

• Requires a minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance field
• Requires knowledge of the following trades: small appliance repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
• Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Requires the ability to bend, and twist to perform normal job functions.
• Requires the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing 80lbs.
• Requires the ability to perform tasks while on a ladder.
• Requires the ability to be exposed to various climates from extreme heat to extreme cold.
• Requires the ability to operate equipment that requires continual and repetitive hand and arm motions.
