Job summary

Applegreen USA is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repairs at a Travel Plaza, ensuring equipment runs safely and cost-effectively. This non-exempt role reports to the Facilities Manager and covers food service equipment, appliances, and basic trades.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in maintenance, knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry, can lift 80 lbs, and work on ladders and in extreme conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance.
• Knowledge of small appliance repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 80 lbs.
• Must be able to work on ladders and in varying climates.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair food service equipment.
• Maintain small appliances, kitchen equipment, and basic electrical/plumbing/carpentry work.
• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Coordinate repairs within budget guidelines.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and records.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The full time Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair at a Travel Plaza; ensuring the Plaza’s equipment is operating and being maintained cost effectively. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the Facilities Manager.

Essential Functions

• Inspects, diagnoses, and performs repairs and maintenance on all food service equipment.
• Maintains small appliances, kitchen equipment, minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
• Ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Coordinates repairs within approved budgetary guidelines.
• Maintains preventative maintenance schedule and records.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, And Work Environment

• Requires a minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance field
• Requires knowledge of the following trades: small appliance repair, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
• Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Requires the ability to bend, and twist to perform normal job functions.
• Requires the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing 80lbs.
• Requires the ability to perform tasks while on a ladder.
• Requires the ability to be exposed to various climates from extreme heat to extreme cold.
• Requires the ability to operate equipment that requires continual and repetitive hand and arm motions.
