Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to safely inspect, repair, install, and maintain plant equipment, ensuring reliable operations.

The role emphasizes preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with a strong safety mindset. You will collaborate with production and electrical teams, read drawings, perform welding and fabrication, and operate forklifts or lifts as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years in industrial maintenance or millwright work in cement, aggregates, mining, or heavy manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Skilled in welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize maintenance activities independently or in a team.
  • Comply with Amrize safety policies including LOTO, Working at Heights, and confined space procedures.
  • Operate mobile equipment safely (forklift, man lift, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment (conveyors, pumps, crushers, dryers, separators, gearboxes, and rotary equipment).
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Fabricate, weld, cut, and assemble components or replacement parts as needed.
  • Install, align, and move mechanical equipment per engineering specs and drawings.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate findings to plant management.
  • Collaborate with production, electrical, and operations teams to schedule and complete work efficiently.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with plant clean-up and other support activities to maintain safe operations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe inspection, repair, installation, and maintenance of all plant equipment and systems to ensure optimal plant performance. This role supports reliable operations by performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment, including conveyors, pumps, crushers, dryers, separators, gearboxes, and rotary equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
  • Fabricate, weld, cut, and assemble mechanical components or replacement parts as needed.
  • Install, align, and move mechanical equipment according to engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Safely operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, and service trucks as required.
  • Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate findings to plant management.
  • Collaborate with production, electrical, and operations teams to schedule and complete work efficiently.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with plant clean-up and other support activities as needed to maintain safe, efficient operations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent.
Required Work Experience: 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or millwright work (cement, aggregates, mining, or heavy manufacturing environment preferred).
Additional Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Skilled in welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize maintenance activities independently or within a team.
  • Support and comply with all Amrize Safety Policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Working at Heights (WAH), and confined space procedures.
  • Ability to work safely in varied environmental conditions and around heavy equipment.
  • Mobile equipment operation experience preferred (forklift, man lift, loader, etc.).
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
