Job summary

CBRE GWS Local in San Jose is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to maintain the building’s furniture, fixtures and equipment, and perform basic repairs to flooring, walls, plumbing and HVAC systems. In emergencies, you may assist with required tasks to support operations.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and 3+ years of related experience. A valid driver’s license is preferred, and you will follow safety policies and participate in ongoing safety trainings.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing fixtures, and basic decor maintenance.
• Readily follows direction from Facility Manager and supports team members.
• Identifies unsafe conditions and reports them for safety oversight.
• Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
• Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
• Reports accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
• Participates in safety meetings, training and hazard assessments.
• Applies OSHA and local safety requirements to all assigned work.
• May assist with special events and may drive a cart or vehicle.
• Assists skilled trade workers and learns new skills for advancement.
• May use basic cleaning chemicals.
• Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
• Adjusts furniture, fixtures and equipment as necessary.

The Building MaintenanceTechnician will maintain the building’s furniture, fixtures and equipment. This individual will perform basic maintenance/repairsto flooring, walls, plumbing and HVAC systems. In the event of an emergency, he/she may becalled to support necessary tasks in association with that emergency.

The generalresponsibilities of the position include those listed below, but CBRE GWS Localmay identify other responsibilities of the position as needed. Theseresponsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessitiesand client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performstasks, such as but not limited to, changing light bulbs, installing paperdispenser units, changing filters, changing locks on doors, minor decorativemaintenance, workstation assembly and repair plus other tasks not requiring alicensed skilled trades person or journeyman.
• Readily takesdirection from Facility Manager and Facility Coordinator. Willingly supports team members upon requests.
• Identifiesand corrects unsafe working conditions with management oversight.
• Attendstraining programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

The minimum salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $55,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $102,500 annually.
