About the Role
The Maintenance Technician supports the smooth daily operation of the school by ensuring the campus, buildings, and equipment are clean, functional, and safe. This role is hands‑on and highly collaborative—ideal for someone who is resourceful, proactive, and skilled in general facility repair. You will help maintain an optimal learning environment by addressing facility needs, coordinating vendor work, and supporting campus events and operational logistics.
You will also:
- Support and maintain the facility, grounds, and equipment, including handyman repairs and painting/patching
- Contact vendors for specialized repairs, gather quotes, and coordinate approval with the supervisor
- Work with vendors and oversee contractors as needed
- Clean cafeteria tables and sweep floors after lunch, as required
- Perform periodic daily cleaning of bathrooms throughout the day
- Support school events by providing equipment, setup, and on‑site assistance
- Monitor vendor service visits (HVAC, elevator, fire systems, etc.)
- Coordinate and manage building keys; collaborate with IT regarding swipe card access
- Maintain awareness of facility and grounds security
- Collaborate with the supervisor on long‑term facility planning and campus upkeep
- Identify CapEx needs, obtain quotes, and prioritize requests with the supervisor
- Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in a changing, fast‑paced environment
- Run facilities errands and support nearby campuses as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Credentials:
- High school diploma (or equivalent), or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance and/or applicable state background check (required)
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in maintenance or similar facility support roles, ideally in a school setting
- Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, BMS, burglar, fire, and sprinkler systems) is a plus
