Job summary

The Old Globe in San Diego, CA seeks a General Maintenance Technician to maintain electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems in a busy regional theatre.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to work requests, set up events, repair appliances, and monitor boiler/HVAC equipment. A proactive, self-starting approach is essential, and a commitment to equity and inclusion is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and/or HVAC maintenance preferred.
• Performing preventative maintenance and responding to work requests.
• Event set-up and take-down, appliance maintenance and repair.
• Plumbing repair and monitoring of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance on building systems.
• Responding to maintenance work requests from theatre operations.
• Setting up and taking down equipment for events.
• Repairing appliances and plumbing fixtures as needed.
• Maintaining HVAC equipment and monitoring boiler operation.
• Electrical work including replacement and installation of components.

DescriptionThe Old Globe seeks a general maintenance technician with a background in building maintenance, to work for this award-winning, acclaimed regional theatre located in beautiful Balboa Park. Knowledge and experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing and/or HVAC maintenance strongly preferred.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Performing preventative maintenanceResponding to work requestsEvent set-up and take-downAppliance maintenance and repairPlumbing repairPreventive maintenance and repair of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment, including monitoring boiler and HVAC unitsElectrical work, including replacing and installing electrical components and equipmentA proactive, self-starting approach is strongly preferred.The Old Globe is actively committed to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, & access in all areas of our operation. Pay range is $22.00 to $24.00 per hour. Must be able to pass a background check and have valid California Driver’s License, and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
