Olgcstx is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair church buildings, grounds and equipment. This 20-hour-a-week role runs Tuesday through Friday with schedule to be determined, and includes light front office assistance as needed.

Responsibilities include establishing a work order system, inspecting facilities, performing painting, basic plumbing and carpentry, safeguarding premises, ordering supplies, and adhering to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in maintenance or related field.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record.
• Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, able to work independently and on a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities.

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing of the church’s buildings, grounds and equipment, and other duties as assigned, to include regular administrative assistance at the front office, as needed, by the Pastor. This is a part-time position working 20 hours a week Tuesday through Friday. Schedule to be determined.

Position Responsibilities:

• Establish a work order system and maintain it.
• Inspect all buildings and facilities and initiate repairs as needed.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
• Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
• Conduct regular inventory of physical equipment and supplies and maintain accurate records. Order tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
• Responsible for the general maintenance and repairs of the church’s buildings. This includes, but is not limited to, painting, light fixtures, minor plumbing and/or carpentry.
• Other than areas maintained by independent contractors, is responsible for ground maintenance.
• Move furniture and office equipment as requested
• Must complete all required trainings in a timely manner.
• Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
• Adherence to the Code of Conduct Policy is mandatory.
• Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the standards of our Catholic Faith.
• Do administrative tasks, answer phones, and greet visitors, as needed or when assigned by Pastor.
• Other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education
  • High School Degree or GED equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in maintenance or related field.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
