Job summary

The Center for Disability Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our agency. The role supports a broad range of maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, electrical work, and grounds keeping to ensure safe and accessible facilities for our clients.

We value hands-on experience in preventive maintenance and are looking for a reliable individual who can operate under general supervision while bringing some creativity to problem solving.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
  • NYS Driver's license in good standing.
  • At least 1 year of job related experience in maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, HVAC, electrical, grounds keeping, cleaning, and/or snow removal.
  • In lieu of 1 year of experience, completion of a building related trade/technical program will be accepted.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Performs major maintenance projects and service/repairs in preventive maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, minor HVAC, electrical, grounds, cleaning, snow removal, vehicle maintenance, furniture moving and other duties as assigned.

The Maintenance Technician assists in service and repairs in preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, HVAC, electrical, grounds keeping, cleaning, and/or snow removal. The Maintenance Technician is knowledgeable of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. They work under general supervision but a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Responsibilities
  • Performs major maintenance projects, service and repairs in the areas of preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, minor HVAC problems, electrical, grounds, cleaning, snow removal, vehicle maintenance, furniture moving and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • NYS Drivers license in good standing.
  • At least 1 year of job related experience, specifically in preventative maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet rocking, HVAC, electrical, grounds keeping, cleaning, and/or snow removal.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $20.90 - $24.20
