Job summary

Hennig Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems at our Rockford, IL facilities.

You will inspect for safety hazards, repair doors and building components, replace consumables, and keep accurate maintenance records. The role requires reading English, the ability to follow directions independently, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry systems; maintenance or facilities repair preferred.
• Reading: must be able to read and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on building equipment and machinery.
• Inspect facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
• Repair doors, windows, flooring, walls, and other building components.
• Replace light bulbs, filters, and consumable materials.
• Maintain building grounds, including snow removal, landscaping, and trash collection as needed.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain departmental 5S housekeeping standards

Requirements
