Job summary

Vandor Corporation in Richmond, IN is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing facility. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support production reliability.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance is a plus.
  • Four or more years of manufacturing experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and HVAC skills.
  • Must be dependable, safety-focused and able to work independently in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities and English literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain production machines and plant facilities.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and perform scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems.
  • Read equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and basic plumbing/carpentry tasks.
  • Use hand tools, meters, and material handling equipment safely.
  • Identify faulty operations and report to supervision.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Technician who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving mechanical problems, and keeping production moving? Vandor is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our Richmond manufacturing facility through equipment repair, preventive maintenance, facility maintenance, and real-time production support.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day and has experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility systems. You will play an important role in keeping production equipment and building systems operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently in a manufacturing environment.

JOB PURPOSE: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, facility equipment, and building systems. This position supports daily manufacturing operations by performing preventive maintenance, responding to equipment issues, and helping ensure that machinery, mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and facility structures operate safely and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance a plus.
  • Four or more years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC/Robot programming experience and HVAC experience is preferred.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering principals, concepts, practices and theories.
  • Working knowledge of all production equipment and processes.
  • Good communication skills, team oriented and a self-starter.
  • Strong reasoning ability, able to analyze problems.
  • Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 75lbs consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
Salary Information

$26 - $36Hourly Wage
