Job summary

Nelson & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time, on-site role in Dayton, Ohio. The position covers varied mechanical maintenance, including repairs, installations, and upkeep of buildings and grounds.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of standard maintenance practices, physical capability for tasks, and a valid driver's license with insurable record. HS diploma or GED required, with ability to work after hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard practices, tools, materials and safety in building/grounds maintenance.
• Skill in care of tools and equipment used in maintenance repair work.
• Ability to learn and work effectively with fellow employees and others.
• Sufficient physical strength to perform tasks consistently and satisfactorily.
• Must be able to drive, have a CURRENT Operator's License and insurable driving record, be bondable, and have a HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform varied mechanical maintenance work including repair, replacement, or installation of parts, fixtures, appliances, and structures.
• Use proper methods, tools, and materials with minimal supervision.
• Assist in turning units and making ready spaces in safe, decent conditions.
• Paint, replace windows, screens, and prepare surfaces for painting and finish applications.
• Patch plastering, repair gutters and downspouts, fixtures, and plumbing as needed.
• Operate equipment and perform on-call, emergency, or after-hours work when required.
• Assist with maintaining grounds and other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Technician

Full Time Dayton, OH, US

Salary Range: $18.00 To $21.00 Annually

DUTIES

• This is a position that requires varied mechanical maintenance work in the repair, replacement, or installation of parts, fixtures, appliances, and structures. Primary responsibility is for the use of proper methods, tools, and materials to be used; be able to perform work without close supervision. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor and or Lead Technician. Duties include but not necessarily limited to:
• Ability to assist in turning units, to make ready in decent, safe and sanitary condition
• Painting, replacing windows, screens.
• Preparing interior and exterior surfaces for painting and applying appropriate finishes to such surfaces.
• Patch plastering.
• Repairing gutters and downspouts.
• Repairing water faucets, closet tanks and bowls. Remove objects there from.
• Operating equipment
• Installing and repairing plumbing fixtures.
• Ability to perform on-call, emergency, and after hours work as needed.
• Assist with maintaining grounds
• Other duties as assigned
