Job summary

Quest Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep property buildings and grounds in good repair and appearance. The role supports the Maintenance Supervisor/Community Manager and involves preparing vacant units, maintaining supplies, and assisting groundskeeping tasks.

The position requires on-call availability, adherence to safety policies, and willingness to improve skills and participate in cross-training as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s; work with money, weight, volume, and distance.

Responsibilities

• Daily repair and upkeep of the property.
• Maintain grounds and assist the groundskeeper daily.
• Prepare vacant units for occupancy.
• Care for inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Secure maintenance shop at close of every work day.
• Be available for on-call work.
• Operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents.

REPORTS TO: MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR/COMMUNITY MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains efficient operation and upkeep of the property buildings and grounds in a supportive role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of the property.
• Responsible to maintain the grounds and assist the groundskeeper on daily basis.
• Responsible for the preparation of vacant units for occupancy.
• Responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company.
• Responsible for the supply and upkeep of all personal tools
• Responsible for reporting unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents.
• Responsible for maintaining the required property uniform and insuring a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Responsible for cleaning work area, tools and equipment.
• Responsible for courteous, efficient response at all times.
• Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
• Responsible for thorough knowledge of management company policies and property community policies.
• Responsible for seeking educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development.
• Responsible to be available to work on an on-call basis.
• Responsible for securing the maintenance shop(s) at the close of every work day.
• And anything else that the MS feels falls into the Maintenance Tech’s job description.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician

(CAMT) is helpful in this position.
