Position
Maintenance Technician – Pueblo, Colorado
Purpose of Position
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining all plant production equipment. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing CNC milling machines, hydraulic presses, saws, planers, cranes, jib hoists, forklifts, welders, and other metal‑working equipment.
Task and Responsibilities
- Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and CNC electronics on manufacturing machinery, material handling systems, cranes, forklifts, dust collection system, and the physical plant.
- Train operators on preventative maintenance and maintain a work order system.
- Layout, installation, and start‑up of project work.
- Organize and maintain spare parts inventory.
- Understand the operation of pneumatics, hydraulics and general mechanics.
- Complete daily work orders and assignments in a timely manner.
- Understand Programmable Logic Controls, Variable Frequency Drives, sensors and transducers including pyrometers, pressure transducers & switches, multimeters, thermocouples and proximity sensors.
- Wire motors and controls up to 480 VAC & 250 VDC.
- Perform shaft alignments and select appropriate couplers.
- Operate hydraulic controls and pumps, including pressure relief valves, directional control valves and flow controls on vane & piston pumps.
- Be willing to work outside on mandolins in rain or snow.
- Apply lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
- Adhere to Nortrak’s Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures, practices and policies.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and pushing, pulling, or lifting objects during the shift.
- Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach during the shift.
- Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Require normal vision and hearing abilities to perform job tasks safely and effectively.
Working Location
Pueblo, Colorado
Salary
$28.36 per hour
Shift
- First Shift (Training Only): Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm. Notes: Training duration varies based on skills and experience.
- Second Shift (Regular Shift): Monday – Thursday, 4:30 pm – 2:30 am. Notes: Overtime may be required.
Job Requirements
- High School graduate or GED preferred.
- Vocational technical training in a mechanical related field preferred.
- 3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
- Must pass the corporate maintenance test with a minimum required score.
- Forklift and crane certification preferred.
