MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANThe Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown - Convention Center is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician performs general and preventative maintenance of all equipment, physical structures, and landscaping in compliance with corporate/franchise standards to protect the asset, ensure optimum operations and maximize guest satisfaction.

STATUS:

• Full-time

SCHEDULE:

• Variable schedule; Must be available weekends and holidays

RATE OF PAY:

• $23.83 to $25.58 per hour/DOE

QUALIFICATIONS:

• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting and carpentry required.
• Wall paper and carpet repair skills preferred.

Skills and Ability to:

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and complete routine reports and logs.
• Communicate effectively in a courteous manner with guests and coworkers and maintain positive guest relations at all times.
• Add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight, volume and distance.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily activities.
• Meet attendance requirements with dependability and consistency.
• Manage one’s time in order to meet productivity standards.

Education and Experience:

• Three years’ experience in building maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Previous experience in hospitality at a similarly sized property highly preferred.
• Previous preventative maintenance experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
• Must be able to see, walk, stand, bend, climb, balance, lift, carry, crouch, kneel, push and pull. Physical strength and manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment and perform required duties
