Job summary

Calumet is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold continuous operation of plant equipment, tanks and support systems in Porter, TX. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to downtime, and support inventory and work orders under supervision.

The role requires an associate degree or 5+ years in mechanical maintenance, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work various shifts including overtime. PLCs knowledge (RSLogix), Wonderware and welding experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a technical college or 5+ years' experience in a mechanical maintenance position.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to work any shift.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job including walking and standing for long periods of time and physical lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of RSlogix 500 and RSlogix 5000 Programs preferred.
• Experience with PLCs and automation controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all plant equipment as required and/or administered by the Maintenance Manager.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, tanks and supporting systems.
• Respond quickly to downtime, troubleshoot the issue and minimize downtime to ensure continuous operation.
• Monitor plant processes for potential failures and notify Maintenance Supervisor of issues.
• Maintain work order process and complete timely and in a productive manner.
• Assist in maintaining Maintenance inventory.
• Work overtime, additional shifts, holidays, and/or weekends as needed per master schedule.

PURPOSE

Maintains facility in a manner that supports continuous operation of warehouse, equipment, tanks and support systems.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Efficiently and effectively maintains all plant equipment as required and/or administered by the Maintenance Manager.
• Efficiently and effectively performs preventative maintenance on all equipment, tanks and supporting system as directed.
• Quickly responds to any and all equipment downtime, troubleshoots the issue and take necessary action to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Continually monitors plant processes for potential failures and notify Maintenance Supervisor of any issues.
• Maintains work order process, by completing them timely and in a productive manner.
• Assist in the maintaining of Maintenance inventory.
• Must be able to work overtime, additional shifts, holidays, and/or weekends as needed or determined by the master schedule

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES

• Associate degree from a technical college or 5+ years' experience in a mechanical maintenance position or industrial related field
• High School Diplomas or GED
• Must be able to work any shift
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job including walking and standing for long periods of time and physical lifting of up to 50 lbs.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES

• Must have knowledge of RSlogix 500 and Rslogix 5000 Programs
• Programing BASIC Stamp Modular Controller and various PLC's
• Experience with Soldering, MIG, and ARC welding, as well as wiring carious power supplies
• Advanced understanding of Wonder Ware, electrical, and mechanical systems, Formalization and Transmission know-how
• Allen - Bradley Micrologix 1000 PLC
• Allen - Bradley 160 SSC Variable Speed Drive
• Allen - Bradley SLC 500 Controllers
