Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for its Pine Hall, NC site. This hands-on role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is fully on-site, with night shifts from 7pm to 7:15am.

You will install, maintain, and repair a wide range of manufacturing systems, ensuring safe operations, and providing feedback to improve procedures and part availability.

Qualifications

  • Experience with bearings, motors, gearboxes, and major electrical components.
  • 3-5 years industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training/degree.
  • Strong safety knowledge and positive safety behaviors.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (e.g. vibration, thermography, ultrasound).
  • Ability to navigate SAP and read diagrams and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily installation, maintenance, service, and repair of manufacturing systems.
  • Maintains central supply and auxiliary systems with test instruments.
  • Inspects equipment and notes issues; reports findings in CMMS.
  • Guides technicians and operators; provides training as needed.
  • Ensures safe operation with PPE and SOP adherence.
  • Requisitions parts, tools, and materials as needed.

Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintenance Technicians are involved in the daily installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of manufacturing systems. This is a hands-on position requiring knowledge of mechanical systems combined with a strong equipment troubleshooting ability. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $24.00

Schedule: night shift ( 7pm- 7:15am)

Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities
  • Performs daily installation, maintenance, service, and repair of a wide variety of manufacturing systems including, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, using various hand and power tools and precision‑measuring and testing instruments of the maintenance trade.
  • Maintains central supply systems, auxiliary systems, and chemical water treatment systems, using gauges and other test instruments to, disassemble, reassemble, replace, or repair system components.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds and does visual inspections to locate causes of trouble.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Reports time spent, parts used, settings and other job‑related activities in the CMMS system.
  • Provides feedback to planners and supervisors to improve routine procedures, part availability and job preparation
  • Demonstrates exemplary housekeeping and care of machinery and work areas.
  • Provides assistance in the plant involving other types of general maintenance work when needed.
  • Completes scheduled checks any malfunctions and unsafe conditions, and reports and corrects them.
  • Completes repairs in a safe and timely manner, ensuring that all special PPE is utilized according to company rules and policies, following job‑related SOP’s.
  • Provides training and feedback to the operators and production supervisors.
  • Inspects work to assure proper installation, maintenance, and repair of buildings and equipment.
  • Requisitions supplies, materials, tools, machine parts, and other necessary equipment.
Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications
  • Experience and knowledge around the functions and designs of bearings, motors, gearboxes, and major electrical components.
  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent to include technical training or degree.
  • Demonstrated safety knowledge and positive safety behaviors.
  • Pro-Active and Predictive Maintenance knowledge or training desired but not required. Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance and ability to support investigations and develop mitigation plans to address findings.
  • Experience with maintenance best practices such as Precision Maintenance techniques (e.g. dynamic balancing, equipment alignment, equipment repair standards, etc.)
  • Experience and/or certifications with predictive maintenance technologies (i.e. Vibration, Tribology, Thermography, Ultrasound, Motor Circuit Analysis.)
  • Ability to navigate notifications, confirmations, work orders, and materials in SAP system. Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers.
  • Good judgment in recognizing scope of responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Good problem‑solving skills, be able to work independently, and be able to do highly accurate work that requires concentration and physical effort.
  • Proficiency in mathematics as it relates to mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to concentrate in a busy work environment.
  • Quality-focused and detail-oriented.
  • Basic computer skills
