Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Philadelphia to perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and general repairs in the building and common areas. You will maintain logs and support 24/7 on-call maintenance.

The role requires hands-on experience, ability to follow instructions, and knowledge of basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry. You will operate hand and power tools and participate in preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of building maintenance/repair experience.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools and follow written/verbal directions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain safe working conditions daily and submit requests as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with responders for safety.
  • Perform minor and major repairs of common area buildings and equipment and document work orders.
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment and set up rooms for meetings.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks.

Maintenance Technician

Full Time Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA, US

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the maintenance of the Philadelphia facilities and common area elements within the building. This includes but is not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting tasks, general repairs (i.e. drywall, flooring, etc) and snow removal. You will maintain and update work logs as required and carry a work cell phone for required emergency on-call maintenance and snow removal services for our 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain safe working conditions each day, submit requests as needed
  • Take initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Recognize and address problems quickly and decisively
  • Promptly respond to emergencies; coordinate with other responders to ensure the safety of the community
  • Ensure that supplies/tools are always attended to and stored out of site when possible
  • Perform minor and major repairs of common area buildings and equipment as needed, document for follow through with appropriate work order system and inform supervisor when appropriate.
  • Conduct minor repairs on ground level lighting or lighting that can be reached with a 6-foot ladder
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment, and setup rooms, for meetings as needed
  • Perform various preventative maintenance functions

Requirements:

  • 5 + years of experience in building maintenance, and repair work
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions, keep accurate records, fill out logs and journals, and perform administrative operational functions
  • Knowledge of basic principles of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, vacuum, carpet cleaner, power washer, and other tools used in building maintenance

Physical Requirements:

  • Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 6 ft).
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more following appropriate safety procedures
  • Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions, with exposure to outdoor temperatures, weather variations, refrigerated temperatures, and equipment noise, equipment vibrations, vehicle and/or chemical fumes, chemicals such as cleaning solvents and grease, machinery, and their moving parts, and dust.
  • Work duties require the ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for frequent and prolonged periods of time, and regularly require lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, push/pull, and related physical activities
