West Shore is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for one of our apartment communities in Ocala, FL. Under the Maintenance Supervisor, you will handle all aspects of maintenance and repairs to keep the property in top condition.

Qualifications

• HVAC certification required or minimum documented proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Make ready units for new move-ins.
• Perform grounds work and light landscaping.
• Coordinate with supervisor to complete projects and work orders.
• Repair or replace fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, pipes and fixtures.
• Perform minor painting, carpentry and masonry work.
• Maintain preventative maintenance program.
• Respond to emergencies after hours as needed.

General Summary

Under the immediate supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of maintenance and repairs at an apartment community.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Make ready units for new move-ins
• Complete grounds work such as: grounds pickup, blowing of breezeways and light landscaping
• Coordinatewith Maintenance Supervisor to complete projectsand work orders efficiently
• Performminor electrical maintenance includingbut not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
• Performminor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, adding new lines, etc.)
• Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
• HVAC certified, with knowledgeand ability to maintain, repair and replace HVAC systems.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Schedule and complete preventative maintenance program
• Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
• Respondto emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
• Able to work flexible hours
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Completeother tasks as directed and assigned.
