Winpak Control Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance Department based out of Norwood, NJ. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment and facilities. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining production and building systems in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems.
- Repair or replace machine components such as bearings, belts, pulleys, chains, hoses, filters, pumps, motors, switches, guards, and related parts.
- Support tooling operations by assisting with the inspection, changeover, and maintenance of punches, dies, cavities, plugs, and air cylinders.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing on chillers, mold cooling units, water systems, air compressors, hydraulic systems, and heating/cooling equipment.
- Assist with machine changeovers and verify that gauges and related systems are operating correctly prior to production startup.
- Carry out general building and facility maintenance, including filter replacement, roof patching, lock changes, minor carpentry, and other repair tasks.
- Safely operate maintenance tools and equipment such as hand and power tools, saws, drill presses, forklifts, and electric hoists.
- Perform basic welding, light fabrication, brazing, and soldering as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and proactively request replacement parts and supplies.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards, promptly reporting any food packaging or safety concerns to plant leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, and/or five to ten years of progressively responsible maintenance experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency with electrical troubleshooting tools (multimeters, amp clamps, megohmmeters).
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or printing industry environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with SAP or Great Plains (GP) is a plus.
Working Conditions
The role involves occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., perform frequent bending, sitting, walking and standing.
Wage Range
$33–$40/hour
