Maintenance Technician
Base Pay Range

$20.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Katoen Natie’s Maintenance Technician must possess a thorough knowledge of processes and procedures associated with supply, storage, and distribution functions within a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be responsible for repairs, preventative and scheduled maintenance of equipment and machinery.

Requirements
  • Higher technical education (minimum 2-3 years) or relative work experience.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Mathematical skills: ability to perform all basic calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Physical demands: Must be able to lift 55lbs.
  • Work environment: in and outdoor with possible extreme weather conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment.
  • Perform various tasks in assistance or in support of the KTN organization including but not limited to general labor.
  • Be willing to work other than normal scheduled hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays according to the needs of the business.
  • Punctuality is a must; be on time and ready to work at the start of the shift.
  • Never take unnecessary risks to yourself or others when performing repairs to equipment.
  • Experience with automated packaging equipment (pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic).
  • Able to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Complete maintenance reports in detail and as instructed.
  • Be able to read and understand manuals for different types of vehicles and machinery.
  • Perform emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and scheduled maintenance on equipment to ensure packaging levels are maintained as per KTN Management.
  • Report on consumption of spare parts and supplies informing the Maintenance Manager when inventory levels are low.
  • Own and maintain basic set of hand tools.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams.
  • A willingness to finish the repair until the problem is solved.
  • Pride in the work being performed.
  • Ability to perform assigned work tasks with little or no supervision.
Safety Requirements
  • Wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and follow/execute all safety procedures/rules as outlined in the KTN Safety Manual and OSHA Regulations.
  • Possess a high standard of quality.
  • Must be familiar with LOTO practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of all procedures, instructions, and documents of the Katoen Natie Quality Manual relevant to the department and facility.
