Job description

Maintenance Technician at Nicholasville, KY location entails working in a multi-skill environment performing a variety of maintenance related functions. This position primarily services all production operations within the facility. This is a 2nd shift onsite role, with hours Monday - Thursday 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. Candidate needs to be available to train on day shift (Monday-Thursday 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.) for 2-6 months.

Role Responsibilities
  • Arc and gas welding, cutting, brazing, silver and soft soldering
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and piping) for machines and buildings
  • Troubleshoot electrical A/C and D/C circuits using electrical metering equipment
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic systems
  • Use basic shop tools such as lathes, mills, drill presses, saws, grinders, etc.
  • Install and relocate equipment
  • Run conduit for electrical services
  • Work at heights
  • Maintain preventative maintenance programs in assigned areas
  • Plan, implement, and finalize assigned projects with minimal supervision
  • Complete work order records accurately and timely using Maintenance computer software
  • Provide positive feedback for corrective action plans to improve equipment reliability
  • Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and work closely with internal customers to meet customer expectations
  • Repair production equipment in a manner such to minimize interruption to production
  • Operation of Overhead Cranes
  • Maintain buildings and grounds as needed
  • Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test and adjust equipment of all types for safe and proper operation
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, and take proper care of tools and equipment
  • Complies with all DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures
  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to designated Personal Protective Equipment policies
  • Housekeeping, 6S and other duties as assigned or apparent
  • Successfully complete annual RCRA Hazardous Waste and DOT Hazardous Material Training
Minimum Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of trade school, or 2 years comparable work as a maintenance technician in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Good Computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office applications (Windows, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to productively work at heights for extended periods
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Reading blueprints and schematics
  • Refrigeration, air condition, heating and ventilation equipment
  • P.L.C. Concepts
  • Knowledge of industrial electric symbols and line diagrams, control logic-line diagrams, AC/DC motors, motor starters and motor controllers
  • Industrial Electric (NEC) and electronic systems
  • Fiber Laser Systems
  • CO2 Laser Systems
  • Press Brake Equipment
  • Robotic Weld Equipment
  • CNC Punch Press Equipment
  • Power and Liquid Painting Equipment
  • Oven Curing Systems
  • Ability to use and understand electrical test equipment
  • Ability to work in a team oriented atmosphere and a customer comes 1st attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize individual work load to minimize equipment downtime
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented with excellent work habits
