Job summary

Newtown Athletic Club is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs across club facilities, including equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structures. Responsibilities include outdoor area upkeep, inspections, safety compliance, and coordinating with vendors.

Applicants should have proven maintenance experience, the ability to lift 50 pounds, operate snow blowers and lawn mowers, and strong communication skills. EPA certification is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
• Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
• Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• EPA technician certification required
• Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on club facilities, including fitness equipment, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
• Maintain landscaping, parking lots, walkways, and outdoor recreational areas, including snow removal, debris cleanup, and seasonal care.
• Conduct regular inspections of indoor and outdoor areas to identify and resolve maintenance issues proactively.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and resolve issues to ensure minimal disruption to club operations.
• Provide maintenance support for additional real estate properties owned or managed by the organization, ensuring consistency in quality and upkeep.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs, maintenance projects, or large-scale renovations.
• Maintain and track inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring adequate stock and proper functioning of equipment.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe environment for members, staff, and visitors.
• Work closely with the Facilities Manager and other team members to prioritize tasks and complete projects efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, including repairs, inspections, and maintenance logs.
