Job summary

Ferraro Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician in New York to keep our warehouse clean, safe, and well-maintained. This full-time hands-on role covers sanitation and basic facilities maintenance, with daily tasks and preventive upkeep to ensure uptime of equipment and facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures and safe chemical use.
• Basic building maintenance skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
• Comfort using hand tools, floor machines, and sanitation equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow maintenance schedules.
• Safety-conscious with ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Experience in sanitation or basic maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of warehouse floors, racks, equipment, offices, break rooms, and restrooms.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation schedules and maintain sanitation logs.
• Operate floor scrubbers and other sanitation equipment.
• Handle basic building maintenance and minor repairs throughout the warehouse and offices.
• Replace light bulbs and air filters and complete basic inspections.
• Help maintain preventative maintenance schedules for building systems, equipment, and general facility needs.
• Identify maintenance or safety concerns and address minor repairs or escalate larger issues.
• Coordinate and monitor work performed by outside vendors and contractors.
• Maintain maintenance records, service logs, and vendor documentation.
• Support after-hours emergency maintenance needs as required.

At Ferraro Foods, our Sanitation & Maintenance Technician plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary warehouse while helping keep our facility and equipment in proper working order.

We’re looking for someone who’s hands-on, dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable handling both sanitation and basic facility maintenance.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of warehouse floors, racks, equipment, offices, break rooms, and restrooms

• Comfortable using hand tools, small power tools, floor machines, and other sanitation or maintenance equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning and preventative maintenance schedules
• Ability to work safely, recognize potential hazards, and use appropriate personal protective equipment
• Dependability and ability to work independently
• Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Previous sanitation, cleaning, or basic warehouse/facility maintenance experience preferred

The Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Pay:$25.00–$30.00 per hour
• Physical Requirements: This is an active, hands-on position that may involve climbing ladders, kneeling, stooping, working in confined spaces, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and lifting items weighing up to 100 lbs.
