Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on commercial building maintenance or facilities operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily building inspections of floors, common areas, restrooms, and other areas.
• Identify maintenance concerns and complete repairs or elevate issues as appropriate.
• Manage work orders from start to finish using CMMS like Nuvolo.
• Prioritize service requests, document completed work, and close tickets on time.
• Monitor HVAC systems and troubleshoot thermostats.
• Review the Building Management System (BMS) for alarms and conditions.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs (faucets, leaks, drains, ejector pumps).
• General maintenance: painting, ceiling tiles, carpet, window shades, doors.
• Replace lighting components and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Assist with room setups and facility-related requests.
• Follow safety procedures and keep areas clean and organized.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors for outside service.
• Provide professional customer service to occupants.

Job description

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of a commercial facility. This is a hands‑on position responsible for maintaining building systems, responding to service requests, completing preventive maintenance, and ensuring a safe, comfortable, and professional environment for building occupants.

The ideal candidate will have broad facilities maintenance experience with a strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building repairs . This individual should be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting issues, prioritizing work orders, and communicating professionally with occupants, vendors, and other facilities team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily building inspections of floors, common areas, restrooms, pantries, exit routes, stairwells, electrical rooms, mechanical rooms, and other critical facility areas.
• Identify maintenance concerns proactively and complete repairs or elevate issues as appropriate.
• Manage assigned work orders from start to finish using Nuvolo or a similar CMMS platform .
• Prioritize service requests, document completed work, upload photos when required, and ensure tickets are closed accurately and on time.
• Monitor and maintain HVAC systems throughout the facility.
• Check building temperatures, troubleshoot thermostats, replace thermostat batteries, and respond to occupant comfort concerns.
• Review the Building Management System (BMS) for alarms, equipment faults, and operating conditions.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs including:
  • Faucet and fixture repairs
  • Leak repairs
  • Flush valve and sensor maintenance
  • Drain clearing
  • Ejector pump maintenance
  • Restroom partition adjustments
• Complete general building maintenance including:
  • Touch‑up painting
  • Ceiling tile replacement
  • Carpet repairs
  • Window shade installation and repair
  • Door and hardware adjustments
  • Key cutting
  • Storage locker maintenance
• Troubleshoot and replace lighting components including bulbs, fixtures, ballasts, switches, and outlets.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of commonly used electrical and maintenance supplies.
• Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on facility appliances and specialty equipment including:
  • Ice machines
  • Dishwashers
  • Refrigerators
  • Drinking water filtration systems
  • Coffee equipment
• Assist with conference room setups, furniture movement, and other facility‑related requests as needed.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain clean, organized mechanical and work areas.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors when repairs require outside service support.
• Provide professional and responsive customer service to building occupants.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of hands‑on commercial building maintenance or facilities operations experience.
• Working knowledge of:

• Ability to perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and other physical maintenance activities.
• Availability to work overtime when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems such as:
  • Nuvolo
  • Maximo
  • SAP
  • Similar CMMS platforms
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), including reviewing alarms, equipment status, and operating data.
• Experience working in a Class A commercial office building or similar professional facility environment .
• Microsoft Office proficiency, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Technical certification or vocational training in:
