Job summary

MRK Partners seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs, troubleshoot systems, and conduct preventative maintenance across assigned properties. You will restore vacated units, assist with snow and janitorial tasks, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in maintenance or construction, with preferred residential maintenance experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum two years of maintenance or construction experience.
• One year of experience as a full-charge residential maintenance technician is preferred.
• OSHA rules and regulations knowledge is preferred.
• EPA certification preferred.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Must be able to work a flex schedule and be on-call for emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to read, speak and comprehend English.
• Proficiency in plumbing, electrical and machinery repair.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and troubleshoot mechanical systems, and complete preventative maintenance.
• Restore vacated apartments to move-in condition for new residents.
• Remove snow, ice, leaves, and maintain sidewalks and driveways/parking spaces.
• Complete janitorial requirements per schedule.
• Respond to on-call emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Patrol properties daily, identify cleaning needs, and maintain grounds and common areas.

Description

At MRK, our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for handling repairs, troubleshooting problems, and performing preventative maintenance across assigned properties. This role is essential in maintaining and enhancing the quality of the grounds and buildings, with a strong focus on completing work orders in a timely manner.

Key Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Performs repairs, troubleshoots mechanical systems, and completes preventative maintenance. Also conducts maintenance-related inspections, including building and alarm systems
• Restores vacated apartments to move-in condition for new residents
• Removes snow, ice and leaves from sidewalks, walkways, steps and driveways/parking spaces,
• Completes janitorial requirements in accordance with the janitorial schedule
• Responds to on-call emergencies on weekends, evenings, and holidays—resolving issues
• Patrols property daily to identify areas in need of cleaning and completes required work—remove trash/debris from property grounds and common areas, keep the dumpster area clean, and vacuum, sweep and mop common areas, removes litter and debris from lawns, planting beds, parking areas, sidewalks, ramps, and indoor spaces

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of two years of maintenance or construction experience
• One year of experience as a full-charge residential maintenance technician is preferred

• HVAC certification preferred

Requirements

• Must have hand tools
• ANSI approved steel-toe shoes/composite
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must have reliable transportation
• Willing to assist with other properties within the portfolio and surrounding portfolios as needed
• Willing to travel up to 10-20% of the time
