Responsibilities

  • Receive work orders, identify faulty equipment and acquire parts to complete repairs.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work.
  • Complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades, calibrations and retrofits.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, level, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Review production specifications, identify and report capacity restraints.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Maintain and acquire new technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on CNC machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations and manuals, manufacturer’sinstructionsand engineering specifications.Troubleshooting malfunctions andrepairwhere necessary.

Education and Experience:
  • Highschool diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 6monthsindustry related experience and/or training.

  • Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance is ideal but notrequired.

  • 2+ years of equipment maintenance in a machine shop environment isrequired.

  • Experience with CNC repair and/or robotics isrequired.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerized Maintenance Management System is desired.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong analytical andproblem solvingability.

  • Ability to perform maintenance functions such as replacing spindles, ball screws, bearings,slidesand other components of machine tools.

  • Ability to coordinateand prioritizedaily workload based on capacity and customer demands.

  • Proficient in MS Office.

  • Excellent communication, projectmanagementand organizational skills.

  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform electrical,mechanicaland hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments.

  • High ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and perform repairs.

  • Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals,manufacturer’sinstructionsand engineering specifications.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing with some lifting, bending, and twisting.

  • Ability tolift upto 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stoop,bendor kneel whenrequired.
