Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair. This includes:

• Troubleshooting and repairing all production equipment such as injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
• Performing troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, including chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, and other water filtration equipment.
• Working directly with machine operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff to resolve mechanical issues.
• Proposing solutions to complex problems to senior mechanics and management.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and testing equipment.
• Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, and conveyors.
• Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment following Niagara's processes.
• Maintain industrial control systems.
• Work independently and with team members to complete repairs safely and promptly.
• Fill in for production operators as needed.
• Create and report repairs, complete work orders, and document parts and materials used.
• Follow plant safety rules and use PPE where required.
• Maintain regular attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4 years of experience in a similar maintenance environment.
• Experience managing people and projects.

Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.

• Effective communication skills across departments.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Skilled with shop equipment and precision measuring tools.
• Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer.
• Own basic tools and toolbox.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience with high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
• Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, rotary equipment, HVAC, electrical schematics, and repair of advanced drives and controllers.
