Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair. This includes:
- Troubleshooting and repairing all production equipment such as injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
- Performing troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, including chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, and other water filtration equipment.
- Working directly with machine operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff to resolve mechanical issues.
- Proposing solutions to complex problems to senior mechanics and management.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and testing equipment.
- Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, and conveyors.
- Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment following Niagara's processes.
- Maintain industrial control systems.
- Work independently and with team members to complete repairs safely and promptly.
- Fill in for production operators as needed.
- Create and report repairs, complete work orders, and document parts and materials used.
- Follow plant safety rules and use PPE where required.
- Maintain regular attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in a similar maintenance environment.
- Experience managing people and projects.
Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.
- Effective communication skills across departments.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Skilled with shop equipment and precision measuring tools.
- Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer.
- Own basic tools and toolbox.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Experience with high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
- Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, rotary equipment, HVAC, electrical schematics, and repair of advanced drives and controllers.

Education
- Minimum: High School Diploma
- Preferred: Associate's Degree in related field
