Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in indoor and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and other building systems.
  • Complete service requests and work orders promptly.
  • Perform apartment turnovers, including repairs and painting.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Maintain common areas and exterior appearance.
  • Coordinate with vendors for estimates and projects.
  • Assist in maintenance budgets and capital expenditures.
  • Respond to emergencies during on-call rotation.
  • Support other Oakbrook properties in Milwaukee.

At Oakbrook Corporation, we believe great communities start with great people. We're seeking a skilled, dependable, and customer-focused Maintenance Technician to support Maria Linden Senior Apartments and Chapel Garden Senior Apartments in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in quality workmanship, and values building positive relationships with residents and team members. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring our communities remain safe, comfortable, and well-maintained while delivering outstanding service to our residents every day.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage the repair and replacement of HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing systems, electrical systems, appliances, and other building systems.
  • Complete service requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform apartment turnovers, including repairs, painting, cleaning coordination, and preparation for new residents.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure buildings and equipment remain in excellent condition.
  • Maintain common areas, grounds, trash and recycling areas, and exterior building appearance.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for estimates and approved maintenance projects.
  • Assist in managing maintenance-related budgets, including turnover, repair and maintenance, and capital expenditure items.
  • Monitor property safety and immediately report accidents, emergencies, or hazardous conditions.
  • Support additional Oakbrook properties within the Milwaukee area as needed.
  • Participate in an on‑call rotation to respond to emergency maintenance needs.
  • Demonstrate and uphold Oakbrook's core values in every interaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience in apartment, senior living, residential, or commercial property maintenance preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing needs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Basic Requirements
