Job Description
Job Summary:
Leads preventative maintenance activities, troubleshoots processes and process equipment, and executes equipment repairs/modifications. This is a hands-on position that requires the majority of time to be spent on the production floor working on the equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns and performs mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance whenever required to ensure uninterrupted customer supply.
- Responds to maintenance requests from the production team as assigned by the shift lead.
- Maintains preventative maintenance schedules.
- Works with OEMs to obtain technical support via phone/email.
Position Requirements:
- Fluent in all kinds of technical documentation including but not limited to drawings, schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with automated equipment, PLCs, manufacturing, and robotics.
- Proficiency using digital multimeter, oscilloscope, and basic hand tools.
- Knowledge of devices and instrumentation used in automated machinery (PNP/NPN, types of proximity sensors, analog/digital, amplitude/sensitivity, etc.).
- Experience with systems such as steam (preferably clean steam), pneumatic, hydraulic, and water (preferably WFI).
- Ability to complete work in a cGMP compliant fashion, with all associated paperwork and environments (clean areas, sterile gowning, ISO 5).
- Proficiency with Office 365 products, particularly Word and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using RCA to determine failure modes and creating solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Works with hand tools, lockout/tagout, chemicals, etc., demonstrating proper safety precautions.
- Provides technical support for troubleshooting equipment problems beyond the capability of Production Associates.
- Repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, inspects, and monitors production and facility-related equipment and machinery.
- Implements equipment modifications or improvements.
- Performs other duties as required to meet department and company needs.
Skills:
- Experience working in a cGMP environment and understanding related requirements (change controls, cleanliness).
- Ability to use PLC for troubleshooting equipment.
- Electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering or design background.
- Experience maintaining fill/finish, packaging, and sterilizing equipment in pharmaceutical or F&B environments.
- Upholds SQF requirements and promotes a strong food safety culture.
- Active involvement in food safety implementation, upkeep, and continuous improvement as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience with industrial equipment maintenance or equivalent military experience.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shifts.
- Repetitive behaviors including lifting 20-30 pounds.
- Frequently lifts/moves up to 25 pounds; rarely up to 65 pounds.
- Frequent bending, crouching, or twisting.
- Work in adverse conditions such as tight spaces, heights, and temperature extremes.
Shift: 2nd shift 5pm-3:30am
