Job summary

Inframark is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment within our O&M team at East Tawas, MI. This entry-level role supports facility operations with preventative and corrective maintenance under guidance, joining a dedicated team focused on water and wastewater systems.

You will assist with pumps, motors, gearboxes, and related components, maintain records, and adhere to safety policies. Driving is required; CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-1 year of relevant experience or training.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assists Lead Maintenance Technician in executing maintenance tasks.
• Cleans and maintains tools, equipment, and workspaces.
• Prepares maintenance rigs and tools for daily operations.
• Repairs or replaces pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, and other components.
• Maintains records and documentation of work orders and tasks.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance tests and inspections.
• Adheres to safety policies and procedures; learns on the job.
• Shifts include weekends, holidays, evenings, and on-call rotations.

JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for inspecting, maintaining , and repairing a variety of equipment to extend its serviceable life. This entry-level role supports facility operations by performing preventative and corrective maintenance under guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists Lead Maintenance Technician in executing maintenance tasks.
• Cleans and maintains tools, equipment, and assigned workspaces.
• Prepares maintenance rigs and tools for daily operations.
• Repairs or replaces pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers, belt presses, and other mechanical components.
• Maintains records and documentation of work orders and completed tasks.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance tests and inspections.
• Adheres to all company safety policies and health procedures as they relate to essential job duties.
• Available for all shifts including weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency on-call rotations.
• Other Duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to write simple correspondence and follow written/oral instructions.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and assist in team-based environments.
• Prior water or wastewater treatment facility experience preferred.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 0-1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred).
• Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) certification or ability to obtain.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairways safely.
• Must be able to pass a fit-test for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
