Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Tech to support weekend operations in our Memphis plant. This hands-on role diagnoses, services, and repairs production machinery and core facility equipment to keep lines running safely and efficiently.

You'll work 5 AM–5 PM on weekends, performing preventative maintenance, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on conveyors, forklifts, VFDs, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics, with a focus on uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; willingness to learn.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance/industrial settings.
• Experience with conveyors, VFDs, PLCs, hydraulics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on conveyors, packaging lines, and drive systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Diagnose, service, and repair VFDs and PLCs; adjust parameters as needed.
• Tackle hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, and bearings.
• Troubleshoot and repair internally before calling external service.
• Strive to reduce downtime with reliable, first-time fixes.

Are you a skilled technician who thrives in a high-speed manufacturing environment? We’re looking for a dependable Maintenance Tech to take charge of our weekend operations and keep our plant running safely and efficiently! In this hands-on role, you will serve as the primary technical support over the weekend, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing production machinery and core facility equipment. Partnering directly with production staff and leadership, you’ll tackle real-time technical issues on the floor, eliminate unwanted downtime, uphold rigorous safety practices, and drive maximum equipment dependability when it matters most.

salary: $60,000 - $65,000 per year shift: First work hours: 5 AM - 5 PM education: High School.

Responsibilities

• Keep the Lines Running: Perform thorough preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on high-speed conveyors, packaging lines, drive systems, and heavy equipment.
• Maintain Rolling Stock: Troubleshoot, service, and repair warehouse machinery—including electric/gas forklifts, pallet jacks, stackers, and floor scrubbers.
• Electrical Diagnostics: Troubleshoot, program, and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)—from simple parameter tweaks to diagnosing panel faults.
• Mechanical & Fluid Power: Tackle hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and line alignments.
• Keep Work In-House: Be our first line of defense. You troubleshoot, test, and attempt the repair internally before any outside service rep gets called.
• Quality & Improvement: Fix it right the first time. No band-aids or cut corners—just solid, reliable work that reduces downtime.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 12 hours at one time
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
• working weekends
