Kraft Heinz Massillon is hiring an Maintenance Technician – Non-Union for the Massillon Plant. The role supports multiple shifts including day, afternoon, and midnight sanitation, with a focus on equipment maintenance, safety, and production efficiency. Qualifications

• Two-year college/technical certificate or 2–4 years related experience.
• Ability to use precision tools to inspect equipment.
• Knowledge of AC/DC VFDs, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Use hand and trades tools; basic electrical/plumbing/refrigeration knowledge.
• Welding projects (Stainless/Aluminum; TIG/ARC) may be required.
• Analyze problems, plan corrective actions, and perform PM checks.

Responsibilities

• Support RMP and develop standards and corrective actions.
• Install/maintain plant machinery to maximize production efficiency.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Document daily maintenance activities and work orders.
• Repair/overhaul equipment; weld when needed.

Work Schedule

• 3-shift operation: Manufacturing of products on day and afternoon shifts; Sanitation - midnight shift
• Monday through Friday-Possible overtime and weekends during peak season

Plant Overview

Plant & Community Overview: The Kraft Heinz Massillon factory is engaged in the manufacture of frozen food products, most particularly, frozen dinner entrees, spinach dip, and kids’ meal under the brand name of Smart Ones, Smart Made, Devour, Kraft, TGI Fridays and Crave. All items produced are frozen and under strict supervision of FDA, ODA, two (2) on-site federal USDA inspectors, and company quality inspectors. The Massillon, Ohio factory currently employs approximately 370 salaried, non-union hourly and union hourly employees. The Union hourly workers are represented by Local 17A of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union.

The factory currently operates production lines on day and afternoon shifts. The midnight shift is dedicated to sanitation, maintenance and warehouse; disassembling, cleaning, completely sanitizing all production lines and equipment, and reassembling them in preparation for the next day’s production operation. All products are micro-tested in the on-site Quality Assurance Laboratory. The products manufactured at the Massillon factory are distributed throughout the United States and Canada through retail and warehouse club outlets.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Participate/support the RMP (Risk Management Process) and assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions.
• Install and maintain all plant manufacturing and packaging machinery and equipment to eliminate downtime and achieve maximum production efficiencies.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and repairs.
• Record daily maintenance activities, PM’s, and work orders.
• Ability to repair, rebuild or overhaul equipment.
• Welding.
• Install or repair facilities lights, wiring, machinery motors, electrical panels, breakers, airlines, water lines, or gas lines as needed.
• Relocate existing lights, plumbing, or electrical lines as needed.
• Training and Safety – Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of the company’s Kraft Heinz Safety Process.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces policies and safety regulations.
• Must be able to work flexible hours; days, afternoons, midnights, overtime and weekends as necessary.

Qualifications

• Two-year certificate from college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection of equipment.
• Knowledge of AC/DC variable frequency drives, motor control, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and refrigeration.
• May be asked to develop and complete welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assemblies; (Stainless and Aluminum); (TIG and ARC); and maintains USDA required welding techniques;
• Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
• Makes preventative maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, Reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make the repair parts.
• Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment.
