Job summary

Community First Solutions is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting memory care and assisted living communities in Mason, OH. This full-time role requires hands-on maintenance across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, with on-call rotation 24/7.

You will travel between facilities and manage work orders, train junior technicians, and maintain safe, welcoming spaces for residents and families.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years maintenance-related experience preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid driver license and driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and repair on mechanical, plumbing, electronic, HVAC and other building systems.
  • Repair PVC pipes, toilets, and install fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot switches, receptacles, ballasts and wiring; perform routine maintenance.
  • Repair and replace equipment belts.
  • Troubleshoot phones, TVs, and other electronics in resident rooms.
  • Travel between facilities for projects/work orders.
  • Operates a variety of tools and equipment including saws and snow removal gear.
  • Manages workload through the work order system.
  • Completes work orders promptly, prioritizing high-priority tasks.
  • Communicates with supervisor and team about issues and equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain respectful communication with residents and families.

Community First is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting our memory care and assisted living communities in Mason.

Schedules

Full Time, 8:00am - 4:30pm. Must be available for on-call rotation and facility emergencies 24/7.

Pay

Starting at $14.00/hour, based on years of experience

Responsibilities
  • Performs maintenance and repair on mechanical, plumbing, electronic, HVAC and other building mechanics.
  • Perform plumbing duties such as repairing PVC pipe, repair toilets, and install them.
  • Troubleshoot and correct defective switches, receptacles, ballasts and other wiring. Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance.
  • Perform troubleshooting to repair and replace equipment belts.
  • Troubleshoot phone, TV, and other electronic issues in resident rooms and in the facility.
  • Travel between different facilities for projects/work orders.
  • Operates a variety of equipment and machines including saws, power tools, blowers, snow blowers, salt spreaders etc.
  • Manages workload through work order system.
  • Completes work orders within an acceptable period of time, with high priority tasks being completed prior to end of shift.
  • Communicates effectively with supervisor and team about issues or facility concerns as well, and notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions.
  • Respectful communication with residents and families regarding any maintenance issues.
  • Assists lower level maintenance technicians with work orders when needed
  • Provides on the job training for Maintenance Technicians I.
  • Maintain a positive cooperative working relationship by working, acting, and communicating with various personalities, getting along with residents, co-workers, families, contractors and visitors.
  • Continue to grow and learn maintenance skills.
  • All other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.
Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Licenses or other required certifications

Must maintain a valid driver license, vehicle liability insurance, and a good driving record

Experience

Minimum of five years experience working in a maintenance-related field preferred

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities
  • Possess mechanical aptitude
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of plumbing, electricity, HVAC, and carpentry
  • Possess ability to interpret blueprints and read and comprehend operating manuals
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Able to effectively and safely operate all equipment
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds and have the physical mobility for bending, stooping and climbing ladders
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members
  • Flexible and adaptable in coping with pressures, deadlines, and rapidly changing situations.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and possess excellent judgment.
  • Possess and exemplify a high level of customer service
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Basic computer skills are necessary to include email communication, and the ability to use an iPhone to complete work orders within our system.
  • Frequent use of office equipment such as computer, keyboard, phone, copier and fax machine.
  • Be available 24/7 for facility emergencies or to help with snow removal
