Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting safety manuals and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Monitor milling systems to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations in the milling facility.
• Record process parameters and maintenance activity logs.
• Operate loaders, forklifts, cranes, and related equipment.
• Maintain GMP and SOP-compliant safety and cleanliness.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and plant upkeep.
• Assist with packaging operations as needed.
• Ensure PPE, permits, and policies are followed during contractor oversight.

This position bridges milling operations and maintenance, ensuring machinery and systems operate efficiently and safely while maintaining compliance with food safety standards.

Shift and Compensation

1st Shift Monday-Friday 8-5 PM

Compensation is from 52,000 USD 62,400 USD per year

Job Duties

• Monitor milling systems to ensure optimal performance and product quality
• Perform equipment maintenance, repairs, and installations throughout the milling facility
• Record process parameters and maintenance activity logs
• Operate loaders, forklifts, cranes, and other maintenance-related equipment
• Inspect and maintain metal detectors, magnets, sifters, and safety mechanisms
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment in compliance with GMP and SOP standards
• Support and participate in preventive maintenance programs
• Assist with packaging operations and general plant upkeep as needed
• Uphold and promote all food safety and workplace safety policies
• Identify and proactively report or resolve facility or equipment concerns
• Assist with oversight of contractors ensuring PPE, permits, and policies are followed
• Perform welding, cutting, plumbing, and minor fabrication for repairs and installations
• Execute other duties as assigned by the Milling Superintendent or Maintenance Manager

Background Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6 months to 1 year of relevant maintenance and/or milling experience preferred
• Completion or willingness to complete IAOM milling correspondence and KSU short courses
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance record-keeping
• Ability to read and interpret safety manuals, operating procedures, and technical documentation
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
• Willingness to work all shifts, weekends, and extended hours as needed
