Job summary

Kids for the Future seeks a skilled technician to operate COTS processors and related hardware, using UNIX/Linux commands to support the Aegis systems environment at ATRC in Dahlgren, VA. You will assist U.S. Navy personnel, ensuring readiness for tactical operations and maintenance.

The position requires 5 years of Aegis experience, knowledge of SPY-1 radar or Fire Control System, and an Active Secret clearance. On-site work at Dahlgren, VA is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the Aegis Combat Weapons system.
• Knowledge of Aegis Display systems, SPY-1 radar, or Fire Control System.
• Ability to perform corrective and preventive actions on the Aegis Combat System.
• Familiarity with tactical interfaces required to support Aegis operations.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to work at ATRC, Dahlgren VA.

Description

• Perform basic UNIX and LINUX commands to control the operations of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) processors and related hardware devices
• Support on staff U.S. Navy military maintenance personnel
• Support tactical operations and maintenance at the Aegis Training and Readiness Center (ATRC)

Requirements

• Candidate must have 5 years’ experience and knowledge of the Aegis Combat Weapons system
• All Aegis Combat Systems ratings will be considered. However, the disciplines that are preferred are in either an Aegis Display system, Aegis Computer and Peripheral systems, Aegis Computer Network Technician, SPY 1 radar, or Fire Control System
• Candidate must have knowledge of performing corrective and preventive actions on the Aegis Combat System
• Candidate must have a working knowledge of the various tactical interfaces required to support Aegis operations
• Candidate must be able to work with other teammates supporting tactical operations and maintenance at the Aegis Training and Readiness Center (ATRC), Dahlgren VA
• Active Secret security clearance

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000.
