Role Description

The Maintenance Technician role at InterSolutions, LLC is a full-time, on-site position located in Lansing, MI. In this role, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance and repair tasks on building systems, equipment, and apartment units. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, completing work orders, conducting inspections, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation of the property. The Maintenance Technician may also assist with unit turns, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, HVAC filter changes, and maintaining common areas to support resident satisfaction. This role collaborates closely with property management and other maintenance team members to prioritize tasks and ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Equipment Maintenance, Maintenance & Repair to support the upkeep of property systems and units.
• Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting and Industrial Maintenance to diagnose issues and work with building infrastructure and mechanical components.
• Candidates should possess skills in Preventive Maintenance to perform routine inspections and scheduled service that reduce downtime and safety risks.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, along with the ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple work orders and priorities.
• Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach when interacting with residents, colleagues, and vendors.
• Ability to work on-site, including standing, lifting, and performing physical tasks as required; adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Previous maintenance experience in property management, multifamily housing, or a related environment is preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA) are a plus.
