Job summary

Don McGill Toyota of Katy is seeking a Maintenance Technician to inspect and lubricate vehicles and support service teams. Training and growth opportunities are provided to help you advance quickly in a fast-paced dealership environment.

You will perform multipoint inspections, service driveline components, check fluids, and ensure optimal operation. A valid license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required, with opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Familiarity with automotive repair/maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license; able to operate manual transmissions.
• Experience as technician’s helper or apprentice desirable.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work seated for long periods while using controls.
• Work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform multipoint inspections and communicate additional service/repair needs to service advisors.
• Service universal joints, grease fittings, and steering knuckles using grease guns.
• Inspect fluid levels in steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions, differentials, rear axle housings and shackles.
• Check tire pressure, add water to radiators, and replace oil and air filters.
• Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants.
• Drain oil from crankcases and refill with oil.
• Inspect all vehicles for additional repairs.

The Requirements:

• The capability to read/comprehend written instructions and information
• Familiarity with all aspects of automotive repair/maintenance
• A valid driver’s license and be able to operate manual transmissions
• Prior experience as a technician’s helper or apprentice would be highly desirable
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• The capacity to stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
