Ironstate Properties is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our property team in Jersey City, NJ. The technician will perform repairs in common areas and apartments, covering plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and appliance maintenance.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, routine inspections, installing and repairing equipment, troubleshooting building systems, and coordinating with the maintenance manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification is a plus
• 1-3 years of experience in maintenance or related field
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance maintenance, and snow removal
• Proactive team player with good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks in common areas and apartments
• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
• Address basic repairs (locks, walls) and install appliances
• Report issues to maintenance manager and collaborate on renovations
• Troubleshoot and repair building systems including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical

We are seeking a skilled full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team in Jersey City, NJ. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting repairs within common areas and apartments, including tasks related to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and appliances.

This is a full-time position.

Rate range: $25.00 - $28.00/hour

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Address basic repairs, including fixing broken locks and filling gaps in walls.
• Report any issues to the maintenance manager.
• Install appliances and equipment as needed.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems, such as ventilation.
• Ensure the functionality of safety systems, such as fire alarms.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals during renovation projects.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing various building systems and equipment including plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop and grounds equipment, and HVAC systems.
• Demonstrate proficient knowledge in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance.
• Respond promptly to residents' requests as assigned.
• Perform carpentry work and assist with snow removal when necessary.
• Adhere to all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations, and practice safe work habits.
• Adhere to the company's Uniform Dress Code while on duty and maintain a neat and tidy appearance while on the property outside of working hours.

Experience and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification is a plus
• 1-3 years of experience working as a Maintenance Technician or in a related field.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance maintenance, and snow removal.
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to work well within a team.
• Ability to communicate professionally with both residents and staff.
