JP Management LLC in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to maintain daily operations of apartment communities. You will diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, drywall, carpentry, painting, and related systems, while keeping work orders moving and properties safe.

This role requires 5+ years in property maintenance, own tools, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to be on-call weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of experience in property maintenance, handling work orders and performing preventative maintenance.
• Available to be on calls during the weekdays and weekends as necessary to respond to emergency calls/work orders.
• Must have own tools and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to service requests from management and residents.
• Diagnose and perform repairs across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, appliance repair, sheetrock/drywall, carpentry, and painting.
• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently.
• Coordinate and assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready.
• Perform snow and ice removal and assist with exterior maintenance as needed.

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to maintain the daily operations of apartment complexes in Elizabeth, NJ. This position is responsible to maintain and service the building facilities and tenant work orders. You must demonstrate strong proficiency in plumbing, electrical, and a broad range of general maintenance trade skills.

Key Responsibilities

General Repairs & Technical Work

• Respond promptly and professionally to service requests from management and residents.

Diagnose And Perform Repairs Across Multiple Trades, Including

• Plumbing
• Electrical
• HVAC systems
• Appliance repair
• Sheetrock/drywall repair
• General carpentry
• Painting, patching, and compounding

Maintenance Operations

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently.
• Identify potential issues early and implement solutions to reduce emergency repairs and downtime.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized work areas, mechanical rooms, and common spaces.

Apartment Turnovers

• Coordinate and assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready.
• Work with outside contractors as needed to complete renovations, repairs, and upgrades on schedule.

Seasonal & Exterior Responsibilities

• Perform snow and ice removal to ensure safe access to the property during winter months.
• Assist with general exterior maintenance and upkeep as needed.

Requirements

• Must have 5+ years of experience in property maintenance, handling work orders and performing preventative maintenance.
• Available to be on calls during the weekdays and weekends as necessary to respond to emergency calls/work orders.
• Must have own tools and valid driver's license.

Salary: $25.00 - $30.00/hr
