Job summary

Planet Group in Jeannette, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our recycling facility running smoothly. Pay ranges from $20 to $35 per hour, with day and night shifts on a 2 on/2 off/3 on rotation, and a 6-month contract-to-hire path.

You will troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain extruders, conveyors and other equipment, perform proactive maintenance, and work closely with operators to ensure high uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in extrusion, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
• Hands-on skills with power/hand tools, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge of PLCs, Lean manufacturing, and 5S principles.
• Strong teamwork and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Shift/hours: Days =(2,2,3) 2 on 2 off 3 on

Hours: 7a - 730p Dayshift | 7pm - 730am Nightshift -30 minute lunch

Contract: 6 month Contract to Hire position

Location: 1092 Claridge-Elliott Rd, Jeannette, PA 15644

In this role, you will do more than just turn a wrench, you'll keep the heartbeat of our recycling facility running strong. From managing performing maintenance and production inventories to troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial equipment. From troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial equipment to maintaining inventories and performing proactive maintenance. You will play a hands-on role in ensuring that our advanced recycling machinery operates at peak performance.

Essential Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting/programming
• Skills in welding and metal fabrication
• Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems
• Knowledge of industrial automation or robotics
• Background in mechanical repair, machine installation, or process improvement

Basic Requirements:

• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience (extrusion, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and work orders.
• Hands-on skills with power/hand tools, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
• Knowledge of PLCs, Lean manufacturing, and 5S principles.
• A strong team mindset and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or GED (trade school, associate's degree, or welding/fabrication skills preferred).
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds repetitively.
• Willingness to work, Ability to work overtime when needed.
• This role is considered safety sensitive.
• Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
• Must have a reliable form of transportation.
• Maintain consistent and timely attendance.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
