Job summary

Presbyterian Villages of Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Village of Our Saviors Manor in Westland, MI. You will inspect, maintain, and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems, while also handling landscaping and safety tasks.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of maintenance experience, and a valid driver's license. On-call responsibilities are part of the position, with opportunities to contribute to a senior living community by

Qualifications

• One to two years related maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate a computer and operate maintenance software.
• Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation.
• Certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC a plus.
• On-call for maintenance emergencies required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine necessity of repairs or maintenance.
• Inspect, operate, test, maintains and repairs mechanical devices, machinery, equipment and tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
• Installs, assembles, repairs and maintains electrical and gas appliances, equipment, systems, fixtures, lights, electronic components, plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Paint or repair surfaces, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
• Maintain by providing landscaping and snow removal to ensure appearance and safety for employees, residents and visitors.
• Fabricates, installs, repairs, maintains and replaces structural items such as counters, cabinets, partitions, floor and ceiling tile, gutters, roofs, etc.
• Prepares assigned areas for activities and events by clearing and rearranging furniture, setting up equipment, removing trash, etc.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and looking for hazards.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies following safety procedures
• Input work requests and detailed information in electronic system.
• Install equipment to improve the energy or operational efficiency of buildings.
• Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities to keep informed on current information and skill development.
• Follow established policies and procedures including Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures, Safety policies and procedures, Federal, state and local regulations.
• All other duties as assigned
