Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical environment.
  • Technical school training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, piping systems).
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, equipment cleaning, bolt tightening, and basic part replacement.
  • Follow safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and repair records.
  • Support shutdowns and planned maintenance events.

POSITION SUMMARY

A Maintenance Technician I supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment and facility systems. This role involves performing basic mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance tasks following industry-specific safety and regulatory standards. To be successful in the role, a Maintenance Technician I needs to be safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast paced, process-driven environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with routine inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, piping systems, etc.)
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, equipment cleaning, bolt tightening, and basic part replacement.
  • Help diagnose mechanical or minor electrical issues and upscale complex problems.
  • Support equipment installations, calibrations, and adjustments according to plant requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment records.
  • Follow all plant safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE use, chemical handling, and emergency response protocols.
  • Keep tools, work areas, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with operators and supervisors to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain facility housekeeping by performing routine cleaning of maintenance areas, equipment rooms, and common spaces to support a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory by tracking, organizing, and requesting replenishment of critical spare parts, consumables, and tools to prevent maintenance delays.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring equipment issues and suggesting improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and safety.
  • Assist with equipment testing by performing functional checks after repairs or adjustments to verify proper operation before returning equipment to service.
  • Provide basic fabrication support by using hand tools and small shop equipment to fabricate brackets, guards, or simple components as needed.
  • Participate in safety audits by inspecting work areas for hazards, verifying compliance with safety procedures, and reporting findings to supervisors.
  • Respond to maintenance calls by assisting operators with urgent equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
  • Support shutdown and turnaround activities by preparing tools, coordinating tasks, and completing assigned work efficiently during planned maintenance events.
  • Assist with documentation updates by helping revise equipment manuals, PM procedures, and troubleshooting guides when changes occur.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical environment
  • Technical school training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or electrical systems
  • Intermediate understanding of mechanical systems (motors, gears, bearings, belts).
  • Intermediate knowledge of pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, or instrumentation
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical discipline
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, manuals, or schematics.
  • Highly Preferred Certifications such as OSHA 10, forklift, or mechanical aptitude training.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
  • Follow all safety requirements including wearing the appropriate PPE (contact lenses prohibited on the production floor)
  • Move around production floor for prolonged periods of time
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Read and follow work instructions and safety documentation
  • Work around chemicals, industrial equipment, and various environmental conditions
  • Work on different shifts based on business needs; overtime may be required based on production needs
  • Repeated bending, lifting, and manual handling of materials
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools
  • Strong quantitative ability and comfort with data driven decision processes
  • Possesses exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Accommodates shifting priorities as well as excellent problem-solving skills focusing on continuous improvement

The expected compensation range for this position is between $58,030.00 and $85,107.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
