Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to keep equipment operating efficiently, including preventative maintenance, overhauls, modification, fabrication, welding, and mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

On site, you will perform preventative maintenance on production and utility equipment, support new equipment installation, assist operators, document all repairs, and uphold DFA GMP, safety, and sanitation standards; weekend/on-call shifts are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4 years in a process manufacturing environment maintenance.
• Certification/license in mechanical trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production and utility equipment.
• Support installation of new equipment and preventive maintenance programs.
• Assist operators with training and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Document all repairs and maintain safety and sanitation standards.
• Adhere to DFA GMP policies and participate in required training.

Job description

Ensure that all equipment is operating effectively and efficiently, including preventative maintenance, overhauls, modification, fabrication, welding, and mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of production and processing equipment as well as utility related equipment in compliance with all safety procedures
• Support the installation of new equipment, support and implementation of preventive maintenance program
• Assist the machine operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime
• Ensure all repairs are documented
• Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
• Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
• Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
• Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
• Work schedule includes on call and weekend shifts
