- Troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding various machines and industrial equipment (CNC and manual lathes and mills, rotary filament winders, ovens, hydraulic presses and pullers, HVAC and facilities equipment, circular and band saws, pumps, conveyors, etc.), their assemblies and subassemblies, as requested through service tickets.
- Developing, executing, and maintaining regularly scheduled equipment assessments and repairs through preventive and predictive maintenance activities per the appropriate frequencies, with coordination with affected parties.
- Identifying critical equipment, spare parts, and managing spare parts inventory to prevent major downtime.
- Basic troubleshooting/diagnostics of PLC and CNC controls, especially Haas, Fanuc, Mastrov, and Siemens.
- Reading/interpreting and evaluating OEM’s technical manuals and schematics related to machine function and repair/maintenance.
- Implementing plans and organizing tasks with any 3rd party contractors and completing the work reports for PM events, repairs, and overhauls.
- Training/mentoring other maintenance personnel on machine build, functionality, and troubleshooting of equipment.
- Recommending equipment design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Participating in root cause analysis for any equipment failures and proposing reliable solutions for repairs. Following all company policies, practices, and regulations to include Safety and Quality.
- Any other assigned duties.
- There may be a requirement to work off shift, Saturdays, or Sundays.
Educational Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Education (Diploma or GED) is required; related technical degree or certifications preferred.
- No violent felonies within the last 7 years.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience servicing CNC lathes and mills as a Maintenance Technician.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience servicing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, and components.
- Strong safety focus (follows LOTO and other safe practices).
- Familiarity with CMMS solutions and Maintenance Service Ticket workflows.
- Ability to read/interpret and evaluate technical specifications and schematics, especially equipment drawings, electrical circuit diagrams, and hydraulic P&IDs.
- Knowledge of CNC controls, parameters, and PLC for Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, and Siemens controls.
- Ability to execute advanced equipment repairs (e.g., spindle and turret replacement or alignment, ball screw adjustments or replacements, motor/pump repairs and replacements, etc.).
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Capability to provide input to the development of technical specifications for equipment repairs and improvements.
- Strong proficiency using a variety of hand tools and industrial equipment to perform maintenance tasks (e.g., drills, wrenches, measurement devices, saws, multimeters, vice grips, pliers, electric/pneumatic/hydraulic hand tools, etc.).
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks related to machine components’ life span.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, decisive, detail-oriented, and self-starter.
- Mobility in plant.
- Ability to lift at least 45 pounds.
- Visual and hearing abilities with or without correction.
