Job summary

EthosEnergy in Houston, TX is seeking a 2nd Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe, reliable operation of facility infrastructure, utilities, and industrial equipment supporting gas turbine repair operations.

You will perform preventive maintenance, monitor utility systems (HVAC, chillers, exhaust), maintain records, and coordinate with vendors and contractors while upholding OSHA safety standards and LOTO procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must have 2–5 years of maintenance experience in heavy industrial settings.
  • Experience maintaining facility systems, industrial equipment, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Able to read technical manuals and equipment documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Facility infrastructure upkeep and building components maintenance.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot utility systems including HVAC, compressed air, chillers, and environmental controls.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on shop equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate external vendors and contractors for repairs while ensuring safety.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and schedules.
  • Support turbine overhaul operations by keeping workshop spaces compliant and organized.

Job description

EthosEnergy is seeking a 2nd Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Houston, TX team. In this hands‑on role, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility infrastructure, utilities, building systems, and industrial equipment supporting gas turbine repair operations. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, asset upkeep, regulatory compliance, and maintaining critical equipment essential to turbine overhaul and repair activities. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, plant, warehouse, or other heavy industrial setting, along with experience maintaining facility systems, industrial equipment, and preventive maintenance programs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Facility Infrastructure Upkeep:
  • Maintain and repair facility structures, shop floors, office areas, and grounds.
  • Service lighting systems, overhead doors, loading docks, fencing, roofing, and general building components.
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify and resolve issues before they affect operations.
  • Coordinate corrective actions for structural and facility repairs. Utility Systems Management:
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot facility utility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, chillers, exhaust, ventilation, and specialized environmental controls for turbine repair, coating, welding, and blasting areas.
  • Ensure utility systems run efficiently and meet production needs. Equipment Maintenance:
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on shop equipment and machinery.
  • Support maintenance of overhead cranes, blast booths, industrial ovens, welding stations, lathes, machine tools, and material handling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs to reduce downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and schedules. Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain emergency systems, including fire protection and safety equipment.
  • Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and compliance.
  • Participate in facility inspections, audits, and corrective action programs.
  • Promote workplace safety through proactive hazard identification and mitigation. Vendor and Inventory Management:
  • Assist with purchasing maintenance supplies, materials, and replacement parts.
  • Track spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available.
  • Coordinate external vendors and contractors for specialized facility repairs and maintenance.
  • Escort and oversee contractors to ensure safety and quality standards are met. Support Turbine Overhaul Operations:
  • Maintain facility conditions that support the overhaul, repair, and processing of industrial gas turbine components.
  • Ensure workshop environments meet requirements for precision repair of gas turbine rotors, turbine blades and vanes, combustion components, and cleaning and finishing operations.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions to manufacturing and repair processes.
Required Skills / Knowledge
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and facility utility systems.
  • Ability to operate boom and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment documentation, and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing, plant, warehouse, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience with facility systems, preventive maintenance programs, and industrial equipment maintenance preferred.
Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical trade school training, certifications, or coursework in HVAC, industrial electrical systems, plumbing, or a related field preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
  • Work in confined spaces as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions and industrial environments.
