Job summary

Job description

To perform general and semi-skilled maintenance and mechanical activities in the facilities common elements; ensure systems and equipment are operational and properly maintained and common areas are clean, disinfected and maintained in an aesthetically appealing condition; and to perform a variety of related tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Experience

• Two (2) years of building maintenance experience is preferred.
• Experience working in a high-rise residential or large hotel services environment is preferred.

Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• Additional specialized training in the building trades or a related field is preferred.

Required License or Certificates

Possession of, or ability to obtain, Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certificate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Basic principles and procedures of semi-skilled building maintenance.
• Basic principles of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, minor electrical and general cleaning work.
• Operation and principles of life safety systems and equipment.
• Operational characteristics of tools and equipment used in maintenance activities.
• Equipment, tools and supplies used in the area of work assigned.
• Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
