Job summary

Theuniversityunion in Hillsboro, KS is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting tasks across our campus facilities. This full-time role requires hands-on problem solving and adherence to safety standards.

You will troubleshoot equipment, conduct preventive maintenance, handle sanitation tasks on food contact equipment, move furniture, and assist with installations, while maintaining accurate quality records.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years maintenance experience including welding and electrical.
• Forklift certification.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork.
• Ability to document inspections and reports.

Responsibilities

Description

Perform a wide range of repairs and general maintenance needs of facilities and equipment under general supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• -You perform electrical, carpentry, plumbing and painting tasks throughout the facilities.
• -You troubleshoot machine issues as they arise by inspecting, operating or testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• -You conduct and document preventive maintenance inspections on machinery, buildings and systems.
• -You perform and document sanitation tasks following the maintenance procedures of food contact equipment.

Requirements

TOOLKIT/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• -You have 3-5 years maintenance experience including welding and electrical.
• -You can efficiently use various power and hand tools including welders and torches.
• -You are an effective communicator and value teamwork. You provide a high level of service and support for internal customers.
• -You are conscious of safety and have your forklift certification.
