Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Portland Hillsboro is seeking a Maintenance Technician for evenings shift in Hillsboro, OR. The role covers guest rooms, common areas, and building systems, with a focus on quick response and quality repairs.

This full-time position offers $22 per hour, a 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. schedule, and opportunities for growth within the hotel maintenance team, with benefits after the probation period.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of maintenance experience in hotels or facilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues.
• Friendly, professional attitude around guests.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest room and work orders for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances.
• Perform preventive maintenance on rooms, public areas, and building systems.
• Maintain pool, hot tub, and fitness center, with water testing and chemical balancing.
• Do minor carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and caulking.
• Repair furniture, fixtures, doors, locks, and windows.
• Monitor boilers and HVAC; report problems promptly.
• Keep logs for work orders, preventive maintenance, and safety checks.
• Follow safety procedures and keep shop and work areas clean.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and front desk to minimize guest disruption.
• Assist Chief Engineer or General Manager with other tasks.

About Us

Courtyard by Marriott Portland Hillsboro is a three-story hotel in the Tanasbourne area with an indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, restaurant, and meeting space. We’re looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our property safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for guests and team members.

What You’ll Do

• Respond quickly to guest room and work order requests, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance issues
• Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and building systems
• Maintain the indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center, including water testing and chemical balancing
• Do minor carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and caulking
• Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, doors, locks, and windows
• Monitor boilers, HVAC units, and other mechanical equipment, and report problems promptly
• Keep logs for work orders, preventive maintenance, and safety checks
• Follow safety procedures and keep the shop and work areas clean and organized
• Coordinate with housekeeping and the front desk to minimize guest disruption
• Help with other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer or General Manager

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year of maintenance experience (hotel, apartment, or facilities experience preferred)
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently
• Friendly, professional attitude when working around guests
• Reliable and punctual, with availability for an 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. shift [include weekends if needed]
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, kneel, and stand for long periods
