Job summary

True Connection Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support upkeep of the senior living community in Ohio. You will maintain HVAC and other systems, inspect facilities daily, and perform repairs to ensure safety and comfort for residents.

Role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of maintenance experience; knowledge of property management or senior living is a plus. Company offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years maintenance experience.
  • Experience in property management or Senior Living a plus.
  • Excellent mechanical skills across HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting.
  • Effective communication with Maintenance Director, staff, residents and vendors.
  • Strong customer service orientation and responsiveness.
  • Ability to diagnose maintenance problems and resolve issues within budget.
  • Basic familiarity with computers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance on community equipment, buildings and grounds.
  • Maintain HVAC and other mechanical systems.
  • Inspect building, grounds, and equipment daily and perform repairs.
  • Record preventative maintenance data and follow the work order system.
  • Support safety practices per OSHA guidelines.
  • Assist with event setup and building appearance.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibility is to assist in the general operational maintenance and repair of the community’s physical location. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible to communicate and help coordinate the necessary tasks to accomplish repairs to building and equipment systems.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance work on community equipment, building and grounds (equipment repairs, apartment painting etc.).
  • Understands HVAC and other mechanical systems and properly maintains them.
  • Conducts daily inspection of the building, grounds and equipment and performs necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Performs proactive preventative maintenance as scheduled and records data in preventative maintenance logs.
  • Helps to assure that other team members follow established safety practices (OSHA).
  • Follows established work order system.
  • Participates in in-service training as required by state regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining the general appearance of the building including assisting with event set up and clean up.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior work experience in maintenance of 3 years minimum.
  • Experience working in maintenance with property management, lodging, or Senior Living/Assisted Living/Memory Care a plus.
  • Must possess excellent mechanical skills. (HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting etc.).
  • Communicates effectively with Maintenance Director, staff, residents, prospects, and vendors.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service to residents, families and prospects and promotes the community in a positive manner.
  • Strong skills diagnosing maintenance problems and resolving issues within budget.
  • Basic familiarity with computers.
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Technician works within the Senior Living Community and within the Community grounds. The position will be exposed to residents where there may be possible exposure to communicable diseases and infection, potential injury from transferring, repositioning, or lifting residents, exposure to latex, possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens, possible exposure to various chemical, infectious, or biological hazards, and possible exposure to pets. This position may be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, adverse weather, wet/humid conditions, toxic fumes, odors, pathogens, dusts, and pollens. This position may be required to work weekends and/or holidays as assigned.
