Job summary

FUCHS Lubricants Co. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Harvey, IL to perform mechanical maintenance on pumps and related systems. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and handle scheduled and unscheduled repairs as well as preventive maintenance.

Requirements include a high school diploma (advanced education preferred) and at least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience. The role offers a 1st shift and a competitive hourly wage with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced education preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Able to read and perform basic mathematical functions.
• Experience with pumps and related equipment is a plus.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs and troubleshooting on mechanical and some electrical equipment (pumps, compressors, steam boiler, hydraulics).
• Conduct preventative/predictive maintenance and lubrication tasks.
• Assist with maintenance projects as needed.
• Participate in housekeeping and maintenance organization.

FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $25-$30 an hour, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity. This position is for 1st Shift.

Key Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Technician reports to our Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will:

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs/ troubleshooting to mechanical and some electrical equipment (such as pumps, compressed air, high- pressure steam boiler, and hydraulic systems).
• Performing preventative/predictive maintenance and lubricator tasks.
• Assist with various maintenance projects.
• Participate in general housekeeping and maintenance organization.
• Additional tasks will be provided by the maintenance manager.

Qualifications we are looking for:

• High school education or equivalent; advanced education highly preferred.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Be able to read and complete basic mathematical functions.
• 480 VAC, three-phase primary, 120 VAC control voltage experience desired, but not required.
• Both threaded and welded pipe assembly/installation experience desired, but not required.
• Blackmer, Viking, Gorman-Rupp pump experience helpful.
• Some knowledge of HVAC systems is helpful, but not required.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in both a team environment and independently.
